The noted philanthropist has left a deep imprint on San Antonio through his giving.
More than a decade after launching the Najim Charitable Foundation, Harvey Najim is stepping down as president.
The foundation has distributed more than $171 million to 265 nonprofits in support of children and families since its inception. By the end of the year, that figure is expected to reach $175 million.
“The past 15 years have been very rewarding and challenging,” Najim wrote in a letter to community leaders. “There are many more things I want to accomplish in the years to come. And the time is now.”
Melissa Bauman, who has worked with Najim since 2008, will take over as the foundation’s new president after Dec. 31, 2022.
