Providing a safe, stable home for the foster children of Guadalupe County and surrounding areas as well as children from Bexar County. Bexar is the biggest county in our Region 8 which is ovewhelmed with so many cases and oftentimes there’s not enough beds that children have to sleep in the offices of CPS. TruLight127 has four homes finished and furnished with a capacity to sleep 35 children and/or teens and provide them with medical, dental, counseling, life skills, and educational needs.

Parenting Tender Hearts

TruLight127 Ministries offers an extensive Trauma Informed Care and TBRI training for biological families and kinship foster placements. The program for biological parents and kinship caregivers is six weeks long and includes follow up case management services to graduates of this training course.

Trafficking Prevention Training

TruLight127 Ministries teaches their foster teens how to avoid falling victim to Human & Sex Trafficking. This type of training is considered “high need” for our foster youth as 60% of child sex trafficking victims have been within foster care. Because of this, TruLight has become licensed and certified to teach a powerful course called Not a Number, developed by LOVE146, an organization with decades of experience in trafficking prevention.

Kinship & Biological Family Support

Oftentimes, kinship caregivers are not given the same kind of support that foster families are given. They are often left struggling for resources. Trulight supports families as much as they can so that the children placed there can stay in a stable family environment. They provide resources, trainings, and often license them so that they can receive the support that they need.
