St. Jude’s Ranch for Children (SJRC) was created in 1983 when in the Hamilton family bought several acres of land in Bulverde, Texas. The Hamilton Family started SJRC as a way for children to find a safe place and to get away from the abuse and neglect they experience at home. SJRC is a place for all teenagers and provide programs for pregnant teens.

SJRC’s mission is to offer healing and hope to children and families affected by abuse, abandonment, or neglect.

Vision

SJRC’s vision is that abused and neglected children will be empowered to grow up to be happy, productive, and caring adults.

PROGRAMS:

Therapeutic Residential Foster Care

Therapeutic Residential Foster Care program teaches youth essential life skills through therapeutic relationship building. These skills address social, emotional, and behavioral issues, and provide academic support and mentoring.

Pregnant & Parenting Teen Program

The Program provides “at-risk” mothers aged 10 to 20 years old the opportunity to receive training and guidance on parenting, job and life skills as well as social, academic and independent living skill development. Individualized therapy classes are also offered when you arrive pregnant, the mother and baby’s health care needs are met throughout her pregnancy and beyond.

Parents as Teachers

Parents As Teachers (PAT) provides the information, support, and resources families need to help their children
develop during the crucial early years of life. SJRC believes supporting healthy families builds a healthy community.

TBRI Training

Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI) Trainers will helps staff, school districts, teachers, ministry, families or organizations grow in their understanding of trauma and dealing with children from hard backgrounds.

Foster Care and Adoption

Their Foster Care and Adoption Program in San Antonio and surrounding counties licenses and trains families to open their homes and hearts to children ready to live in a family setting, both through short-term foster care and adoption. Adoption is the goal for many children placed in foster care. SJRC Texas works with foster-to-adopt families during this time to prepare them for the adoption and is there every step of the way to guide the families through to the consummation of the adoption.

Made for Motherhood

Made for Motherhood is a support group that gives you an opportunity to connect with other moms, share experiences like adjusting to pregnancy or parenting, or have experienced Baby Blues or postpartum depression/anxiety.
